Take Heart Inc
In 2010, Zaccy was diagnosed with an "Autism Spectrum Disorder" (ASD). His mum, Katy, after going through the emotional trauma of a ASD diagnosis, found communication with official sources about assistance, funding and support services was disjointed and confusing. Hoping to help other parents in a similar position find better quality support faster, she formed Take Heart.
With generous assistance from the team at Impact Christian Centre (where Take Heart still calls home), Katy put the word out to mums facing or suspecting an ASD diagnosis for their child to come and join her for some tea, coffee and sensory (read, messy!) play. Of course, kids don't need to have an ASD to join in, they might just like being messy and noisy (or quiet) too!
From these humble beginnings Take Heart has continued to grow with Lego Club (Awesome!), Take Time Support Groups, and Siblings Group.
Please visit each Group to find out times and venues and to contact the team.

Katy Correll is the founder of Take Heart Inc and recipient of the 2013 Autism Ambassador Award in South Australia. Won't blow her own trumpet so that's up to others, but you will find her behind many of the initiatives that Take Heart is working to achieve.
